Awards

Ann Nichols Leadership Award - 2002:  For service to chemically dependent woman and their families.

Governor's Elder Award - 2001:  Val Roney received a Governor's Elder Award from the Governor's Council on Substance Abuse. The award was presented to individuals who have made significant contributions to the health of Washington State through their work in substance abuse prevention.

Valley General Hospital STARR (Special Talents Are Recognized and Rewarded) Award: Nominated November 2000, for her ability to lift  the counselors and staff spirits daily.

Valley General Hospital STARR Award: Winner May 1998 for being willing to champion a cause (the AIDS Walk), and for being active in her community.

Nominated Duvall Citizen of the Year 1998:  For her energy and undaunted enthusiasm in so many community events including hoe-down celebrations, plowing demonstrations, holiday decorating, hosting over 30 foster children, initiating the first AA meeting in Duvall, and most importantly her legacy to countless individuals and families that are recovering from addictions of one type or another throughout the Snoqualmie Valley.
